Warren W. Dettinger
Title: Vice President and General Counsel

Warren W. Dettinger was appointed vice president and general counsel for Diebold, Incorporated in July 1987.  He is the chief legal officer for Diebold, and is responsible for advising the Company on all legal matters, managing in-house legal staff and supervising outside counsel.

Prior to accepting his position with Diebold, Dettinger was employed by Sheller-Globe Corporation in Toledo, Ohio, as a corporate attorney from 1984-1987.  He has experience in mergers and acquisitions, technology and software licensing, international law, foreign trade matters and commercial litigation.  Prior to Sheller-Globe, he was employed with the firm Fuller & Henry from 1981-1984, and in a Judicial Clerkship with The Honorable Albert J. Engel, of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit from 1980-1981.

Dettinger is a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, Stark County Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel, Manufacturers Alliance Law Council, Greater Cleveland General Counsel Association and Phi Kappa Phi.

Dettinger is a native of Toledo, Ohio.  He received a bachelor’s degree in business and social science and a juris doctor, both from The University of Toledo, in Toledo, Ohio.
